Crowe to be an action man at home

He may have once been the gladiator but Russell Crowe is now just as content in his role as a father.

The Oscar winning star has revealed that he is not chasing after roles in major Hollywood movies like he once did, preferring to spend more time with his family.

Crowe and his wife Danielle Spencer welcomed a second son, Tennyson, earlier this year. They also have a two-year old son Charles.

The actor, who made a name for himself in blockbusters, has admitted that he now prefers to do smaller films.

"The thing is with the jobs I am choosing these days is that they don't come with 26 or 38-week shooting schedules like some of the films I've done in the last few years," he said in comments reported by Bang Media.

"Every decision that I make now depends on what's right for my wife Danielle and my two young boys."

Crowe also added that he is getting too old to do stunt-orientated films.

The 42-year old starred in physically demanding roles in films such as Master and Commander, Gladiator and Cinderella Man.

"Now that I'm getting a little bit older the bones are creaking and the Achilles tendons don't work the way they should," he said.

"I don't approach everything with the same intensity that I used to."

Kylie to go African on Showgirl tour

It seems that Madonna is not the only singer who is currently having a love affair with Africa as Kylie Minogue is to add an African flair to the sparkles and feathers for her upcoming revamped Showgirl tour.

The pop star, who postponed shows after she was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, is said to be giving her show an African theme.

The I Believe In You singer is relaunching the tour in her native Australia from November 11th.

"Kylie wanted to update the outfits and routines and decided an African theme would be really different," a source told the People newspaper.

The singer, who spent her time recovering in Australia and Paris with boyfriend Olivier Martinez, made her return to performing when she joined sister Dannii on stage at Astoria nightclub's G.A.Y. night.

Her Showgirl tour looks set to be one of the most popular and anticipated of the year; in London the first two UK dates sold out in six minutes.

"The demand for Kylie is absolutely phenomenal and these are the fastest selling shows I have ever experienced. It will be fantastic to see [her] back on stage again," said her live agent, Dave Chumbley.

Kylie will be releasing her next studio album next year.

Richie's ex traumas

Breaking up is never easy, but for Nicole Richie, seeing her ex-boyfriend at an LA event with his new girlfriend is almost a Hollywood nightmare.

The socialite, who ended her three-month long relationship with childhood friend Brody Jenner only weeks ago, was brought to tears when he arrived at a party she was at with his new love.

Jenner, who starred on the reality TV show Princes of Malibu, arrived at an LA fashion week event with Lauren 'LC' Conrad, who made a name for herself on the MTV show Laguna Beach.

Richie, who recently rekindled her friendship with Paris Hilton, was visible upset by the sighting so soon after their break-up.

"Nic is furious," a source told Life and Style magazine.

"She said: 'LC just keeps saying hi to me over and over again. I can't stand it! It's like she's rubbing it in my face. Just leave me alone!'"

However the super skinny star soon found solace with ex-fiance DJ AM, as she reportedly spent time in his DJ booth.

"Nic went up to his booth and got a big hug," the source said.

"They whispered to each other, and DJ AM was able to turn her night around."

Paris to model in India

Paris Hilton is adding another modelling job to her resume.

The celebrity heiress has participated in fashion shows in the past for big names such as Alexander McQueen and Guess, but now she is to turn her sights to eastwards as she has been signed to model clothes for designer Anand Jon in India.

The deal is said to be surprising to industry insiders as she has received a negative reception in India this year; her debut single Stars Are Blind was banned in the country as it was deemed as being too sexy for audiences.

However, according to Jon, Hilton has been undeterred by that reception and has been waxing lyrical about the specific type of Indian beauty.

"For her, India is the land of exotica and beauty," he told the Times of India.

"In fact, her response was: 'I finally get to visit the exotic'. She loves Indian culture and the Indian influence on clothes."

The publicity-loving star, who is as famous in the western world for being the star of the reality TV show The Simple Life as for her chaotic love life, is relatively unknown in India.
